KRISTEN, LUKE & BRENNAN // WINTER FAMILY PORTRAITS IN TRAVERSE CITY, MICHIGAN

As we walked through the woods together, Kristen was telling me stories about Brennan as he ran ahead and played with Luke on the sunny trails. She was telling me about how she and Luke met and about their life together in Traverse City, their jobs, a new house, the kind of things you talk about when you are first meeting a person. Kind of casually at one point during the conversation she talked about rings she had picked out with Luke. After exploring the park around the Old Mission Lighthouse, we headed over to Bonobo. While Kristen was in the restroom, Luke quickly explained that he had brought Kristen’s ring with him. So this gorgeous sunny Sunday session also ended with a proposal!

There are so many little moments that come together during the process of building a family. They are all different, no one travels the same path, takes the same steps, has the same story. I love photographing all of them. What an honor.⁠⠀
