TRACY & MIKE // A SMALL SUMMER WEDDING AT BAY VIEW WEDDINGS // TRAVERSE CITY, MICHIGAN
Tracy and Mike were initially planning a different wedding. One with a big tent, pig roast, lots of guests, and a honeymoon destination outside of the country. But 2020 has been a wild ride so far. When the logistics of rescheduling became increasingly difficult for them, they decided to get married on June 20th with their immediate family: their parents and their children. It was an incredibly sweet ceremony and I don’t think anyone who witnessed it had dry eyes. They made it a reflection of their relationship, their family, their love. It was truly an honor to be there and to document. Before I share some images I wanted to share the following passage that was read during their ceremony. Enjoy:
“When people encounter our family, their eyes get big and they say “wow” - in one way or another - because they haven’t seen a family exactly like ours before. Our family is specific, because we are specific people. We did not use a blue-print created by someone else and then struggle to fit each of us inside. We create and re-create our family again and again - from the inside of each one of us - out. We will continue to do that forever, so each of us will always have room to grow and grow and still belong. That is what family is to me: where we are both held and free.” -Excerpt from Untamed by Glennon Doyle
