When Eddie was only about 7 weeks old I opened an email from Maddy during a late night/early morning feeding. I was exhausted and really needed Eddie to sleep longer. Maddy and I had been emailing about setting up a family portrait session in the Summer with her parents and sister (and baby number two would also be joining us!). We had been chatting about how things were going in newborn-land and she mentioned Taking Cara Babies for help with sleep. No pressure. Just if I was interested in checking it out. I thought “what the heck”… it’s worth a try. That course saved our sanity in those early months and continues to be helpful now. Even if Eddie hasn’t turned into an amazing sleeper (he’s getting better…) it at least gave us a road map for what to try next. I don’t know how to put a price tag on these kind of relationships. Client relationships that turn into friendships. I may see folks once a year, but there is often a bond that forms as I watch their kids grow (even if it’s just remotely via instagram haha). Then I start to get super excited to see everyone in person as our session gets closer. This family is so fun and I hope their time in Northern Michigan was just the best. Cheers friends!
