Morning family portraits at the beach // Elk Rapids, MI

As fun as it is to photograph familiar faces, I am always excited to meet new families. And it has been awesome to meet so many people who are asking me to capture a small part of their vacation. The Rentsch Family was in Northern Michigan visiting grandma and grandpa (and also escaping the heat wave in the Southern US) so they figured it was as good a time as any to take family portraits. I’m so glad they did because some of my favorite images from this session were the ones showing the sweet grandparent-grandchild dynamic. We don’t get any of these years back and it makes my heart happy to know that they will have these moments forever as a photograph.
