Multi Generational Family Beach Portraits // Glen Haven, Michigan

As a parent, one of the most challenging lessons for me has been learning how to adjust my expectations. Sometimes dramatically. How much I can fit into one day or one outing. How long it takes me to get somewhere. Maybe I think my son is going to absolutely love something and it turns out - he hates it. Planning something around a nap, only that particular day he refuses to nap at all. You get the idea. These little kiddos are their own individuals in every way, and navigating all of this can be hard. So I completely understand the frustration when your kid is a total angel until photo time. But please, please, please don’t cancel because of your fear of this. Please roll with it. Allow the pretzel bag to be in the photos. I promise I will still be able to capture moments that will help you remember all the good stuff (as well as maybe the not 100% awesome stuff). I am loving the results from this shoot. Even when there were tempers, distractions - all of the completely typical kid stuff. Cheers to you guys, it was such a pleasure meeting and photographing your family! I hope you love these as much as I do.
