Custom Coverage for Small Weddings

If your wedding is taking place on a weekday, I can often offer reduced pricing. Other adjustments for small weddings or elopements can include reduced hours of coverage and/or only one photographer.

Engagement Sessions

Engagement sessions are a great way for me to get to know you - and for you to work with me before your big day. When you book us for a wedding photography package, you can add an engagement session within 100 miles of Traverse City for $300. I do not limit outfit changes or locations within this timeframe. I love to use these sessions as an opportunity to explore with you. Let’s go on a hike or grab a coffee or a cocktail!

Locations requiring more extensive travel are absolutely possible, but will be priced separately.

  • First, we would recommend taking some time looking through the work on our website and Instagram. Make sure you like what you see there! We think that a good gut-reaction is important! Our goal is to blend a photojournalistic approach with good solid portraiture. If you have other questions about our shooting style and our approach to documenting weddings, please get in touch to set up a phone call or video chat!

  • Although we are based in Michigan, we have had the incredible good fortune to document weddings in California, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, and New York. We would love to explore a new part of the country or the world with you. Shoot us an email if you are getting married outside of the mitten, and we’ll come up with a custom quote.

  • If you are interested in booking, we will draft a contract for you to review. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask. Then we ask for your signatures along with a deposit check. Typically we set the deposit at one third of the total package price.

  • I will consider adjusting hours or customizing package details for weekday weddings! If you have any questions or would like to know if I would consider package customization for your event, email me directly!

DETAILS

Preliminary Planning
We begin the planning process with a Google document covering the details and timing of your day. We consult with you on the schedule of your day, including family portraits and group shots of the wedding party, while making sure there is plenty of time for portraits of the two of you. If you have a wedding planner or coordinator, we like to connect with them as well.

Full Day of Coverage
We typically spend 10-12 hours at each wedding we shoot, giving us plenty of time to document your day fully. We realize that weddings are full of such excitement and joy that sometimes events run longer than expected. That’s ok. Each wedding is different and we will never leave before an important event has taken place.

Two Photographers
Having two photographers is super important! It allows us more flexibility to capture both of you getting ready as well as multiple angles of your ceremony, toasts and all the other great stuff.

Preview Images
We love giving clients a sneak peek of images shortly after the wedding! The week after the wedding, we post a curated set of images on our blog and link to our social media accounts. If you would prefer a private preview, please let me know.

Fully Edited Image Collection
After your wedding we go through all of the images. We take many photos in rapid succession and pull out any shots with closed eyes or awkward positioning. We do our best to create a comprehensive view of your day. Again, each wedding is unique, but you can expect between 800-1000 images. The selected images will all undergo exposure adjustment, color correction and other basic editing.

Set of 50 Black & White Images
We select at least 50 images to be professionally converted to black and white. You will receive these images as copies. If we convert something to black and white, you will have the color version too.

Online Viewing Gallery
When your images are finished, we will upload them to a password protected online viewing gallery. Downloading the high resolution images will be available. Your family and friends are welcome to viewing access. While we appreciate any prints or products ordered through the online gallery, you are not required to order anything.

Personal Print and Distribution Rights

All of your images will be yours! Upon final payment, you will receive print and distribution rights. We only ask that you do not further edit the images or sell them for profit. USB drives are available upon request.

We planned a very small wedding with just our immediate families for a total of 14 people. Courtney was the only vendor present, so naturally, I was a little nervous it would feel awkward - but it wasn’t at all! Courtney immediately felt like an old friend and it felt like she should be there. She was easy going, made us feel comfortable and natural, but remained professional. Our wedding was supposed to be outside, but dinner ended up being inside our home due to weather. I was very emotional about this because I was worried about the photos not being how I pictured them. But getting our preview photos, my anxiousness melted away. They were all incredible! I couldn’t stop scrolling through them. I would highly recommend Courtney and would hire her for photo shoots in the future!
